This event, traditionally held the just before most high schools their begin their Fall scholastic competition season, it is definitely the event to capture the end of a perfect summer.
With ocean water and sand, sun tans and sunshine, family and friends, people and parties, all combined with great beach polo makes the Beach water Polo Cup the beach'inest event of the year!
The event was founded by Robert Lynn in 2007, originally called the Beach Water Polo Challenge. It was a small event that year after which Robert approached Nick Baba and Irvine Youth WPC (a 501(c)3 entity) to partner and develop the event. Other principals have been Shore Aquatics of Long Beach and Rob Webb, "the voice of Beach Water Polo" who has had an integral part in coordinating this event with the City of Long Beach. Title sponsor is Kap7 International who came on board in 2013.
Epitomizing the involvement of the community each year on the Saturday of the event there is an exhibition match between the Long Beach Police Department and the Long Beach Fire Department for what must be bragging rights between the departments between the event each year.
All in all, this is an extremely fun event for participants, spectators, public safety personnel and the public!
Novel to the event scene is that if teams enter and pay by deadline (August 2, 2018) free event shirts will be issued to 7 athletes per team.
